Meet Our Pastor

Rev. Dr. Aileen L. Maddox is the pastor of St. Paul AME Zion Church. She also serves as an Adjunct Professor at Charlotte Christian College and Theological Seminary in Charlotte, North Carolina. She teaches classes on Urban Ministry and Church History. Dr. Maddox is also a Faculty Advisor for the Doctor of Ministry program at United Theological Seminay.

Rev. Maddox earned her undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice from South Carolina State University. She received a Master of Divinity from Emory University Candler School of Theology. She later earned a Doctor of Ministry from United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio.

Approaching ministry pragmatically, Rev. Maddox aspires to translate God’s desires for people's lives into practical applications. She believes that transformation begins with understanding, which is central to her preaching, teaching, and pastoral care. Rev. Maddox emphasizes the importance of transparency and testimony as essential tools for prophetic change.

She is currently a member of the West Dayton Caravan of Churches and Dayton’s chapter of the Black Women’s Health Initiative, part of the AMOS project under the umbrella of Ohio Organizing.

Aileen is the third of five children born to the late Ret. Lt. Col. Richard Maddox and Fay Kenner Maddox.
